Join three remarkable young changemakers as they share their advocacy journeys, challenges, successes, and hopes for a better future. Come along and learn how to take action for people and the planet.
Anyone, anywhere, can drive change for a more positive future. But today’s youth are at the forefront, demanding action amid an escalating climate and nature crisis.
In this wide-ranging conversation, three inspiring young leaders will share how they’re driving change through storytelling, photography, education and policymaking. They’ll discuss their successes, challenges, and hopes, answer your questions and offer practical tips on making a meaningful impact.
If you care about the future of people and the planet, this discussion will motivate and empower you to take action.
Speaker bios
Celina Chien
Celina is an environmentalist blending award-winning photography, wildlife conservation and storytelling for impact. An ecologist by training, she’s now the founder and executive director of the impact agency OVERSTORIES. She’s also a board member of Panthera and a youth council member of Reserva Youth Land Trust. Her work has been recognised by the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and exhibited by Dolce & Gabbana and World Press Photo. She’s a featured speaker at TEDx, Paris Peace Forum, COP15, COP28 and more.
Samia Dumbuya
Samia is a climate justice advocate and UK Youth Delegate for the COP29. They founded The People’s Ark, which is dedicated to upskilling young people with green skills for a Just Transition. A BeVisioneers Fellow and student at UCL studying MSc Sustainable Resources: Economics and Transitions, they focus on equitable climate policy and community resilience. Samia is currently advocating for the UK government to establish a British Youth Climate Council to amplify youth voices in climate decision-making. Through research, advocacy and community-led initiatives, Samia empowers marginalised communities to build climate resilience in the face of the climate crisis.
Johnathon Miller-McCall
Johnathon is a Communications and Engagement Officer at Synchronicity Earth – a UK-based charitable foundation focused on protecting and restoring biodiversity where it’s most threatened around the world. He has a strong background in environmental advocacy, community engagement and storytelling. Johnathon creates educational content as a freelance science communicator on Instagram and has experience speaking at major festivals, including Wireless Festival and Forwards Festival. He’s presented for environmental communications company Earth Minutes, where he conducts interviews, leads workshops and raises awareness about environmental issues. He’s passionate about inspiring action and fostering meaningful connections to nature through communication and engagement.

- All ages are welcome, but content is recommended for ages 16+.
- This venue is wheelchair accessible.
- Arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the start of the event.
- The event will be an hour long. After the event there will 30 minutes for you to chat to the speakers and each other.
